If your site has Recent updates-module you can inform visitors about latest updates on your site. All published recent updates from different pages are listed in "Recent updates".
If you want to tell about recent update on a page you should select the desired page from the structure and choose "Updates" tab. There you can add updates and see the latest updates on this page.
All the updates from different pages will then gather in the "Recent updates".
